The MAKO'S offer training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the MAKO'S to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

| PRE-COMP: PUPS This group intended as an introductory group to competitive swimming for ages 4 and older. Swimmers must be able to swim at least halfway to one length of the pool (25 yards) Freestyle without assistance and have a basic knowledge of rotary breathing. Emphasis will be placed on learning all four strokes.
WHITE This group is for elementary/middle school age swimmers that have knowledge of all four competitive strokes. Emphasis will be placed on stroke technique, endurance, starts, and turns. Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards (full length of pool) in both Freestyle and Backstroke.
SILVER This group will be comprised of advanced elementary/middle school swimmers that have partially mastered proper technique of freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke and are becoming more involved in the competitive aspect of swimming. Emphasis will be placed on technique, endurance, dry land, and team commitment. Longer distances will be swam regularly. Swimmers must be able to swim 200 IM and 200 Freestyle.
INDIGO BLUE This group will be comprised of advanced middle school/high school age swimmers who have masters all 4 strokes. The emphasis at this level transitions more to strength conditioning, dry land work, and speed development as well as intensive water training centered on distance freestyle and IM. At this level the swimmer should make more of a commitment to swimming and are expected to be team leaders and positive role models to the younger swimmers.
