Lead Team Representative –Miesha B.
Responsible for leadership of the Makos Parents Team, supports and works with the coaches to ensure a quality program, conducts team meetings, work with the committees in order to ensure the objectives and policies of the OPFY program may be promoted, keep a clear line of communication between parents, coaches, and Y staff.
Volunteer Coordinator/Travel– Chevon W.
Develop roster of needs for volunteer help from each committee. Also entails contacting families to solicit help and schedule shifts for working at all home meets. Coordinate timers as required for each away meet.
Concessions / Activities – Bradlin S.
Plan and organize concession. Duties include purchasing food to be sold, arranging with area stores or volunteers for donations or deliveries of food. Will also work with coaching staff to structure social activities for both swimmers and their families in order to develop friendships and provide opportunities for the team to get together outside of competitions. This committee will organize the end of the season banquet.
Media / Recruiting –Connie J
Responsible for communicating with parents via Team Unify, email, and/or social media.
This could includes (but is not limited to): meet results, advertising team tryouts, publishing special articles about significant upcoming events, etc. You will work with coaching staff to develop and maintain an informative team website that is current and reflects important information related to practices, upcoming events, and other relevant news.
Apparel/Website – Najma N.
Work with Head/Assistant Coach to order apparel and equipment for swimmers and parents. This person(s) will pick up merchandise and help distribute to athletes, parents and coaches.
The OFPY Parent Team is primarily responsible for fundraising and providing a volunteer network that supports the Coaches and the swim team. These funds will be used to help with varies swim team expenses and activities the Parent Team collectively agree upon. The funds that are raised by the parent team will not be transferred to the YMCA.
