Group Stipulations

The FM Gators have a variety of Groups to cater to the beginning swimmer through elite athlete. These groups are designed based on factors including skill, age, maturity, competition and commitment. Our coaching staff assess and decide which group a swimmer falls into based on these factors. Below are some of the guidlines used to determine group placement. 

Developmental 1

  • must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle & backstroke

               Unassisted, with no stops

Developmental 2

  • Must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle, backstroke, & breaststroke legally

 

Developmental to Age Group I

  • All 4 legal strokes for at least 25 yards
  • All legal turns
  • Faster than 2:00.00 in SC in 100 IM/ 4:29.50 LC in 200 IM
  • Complete 10 x 25 @ 1:00 freestyle, comfortably

 

Age Group I to Age Group II

  • Faster than 1:40.00 in 100 IM
  • Faster than 3:20.00 SC in 200 IM/ 3:40.00 LC
  • Be able to complete 10 x 50 @ 1:00 comfortably

 

Age Group II to Senior I

  • Faster than 2:55 in the 200 IM SCY; and complete the 400 IM in a meet, with legal strokes
  • Be able to complete 10 x 100 @ 1:30 comfortably

 

Senior I to Senior II

  • Be able to complete 10 x 100 @ 1:20 comfortably
  • Have at least 1 Sectional or National time

 

Family Work Commitment

 - We do not do very much fundraising on our team, however, we do expect families to volunteer to help run our home meets successfully. Please click below to view our family work commitment.
