YMCA F/M Gator Swim Team follows closely the standards set by US Swimming. Accordingly, our team is committed to celebrating the diverse identities of our swimming community and creating environments and opportunities where differences are embraced, everyone feels welcome, respected, supported, and valued to participate and swim to their full potential.

OUR GOALS

We strive to:

      1. Understand the rich present diversity of our team as an outstanding feature that makes us strong.

      2. Diversify our team (swimmers, coaches, and families) to represent more accurately our broader Fargo/Moorhead multicultural community, our region, and the country.

      3. Provide every swimmer with the resources they need to develop their swimming skills to their full potential as a practice of equity.

      4. Create opportunities to include every team participant in decision making options related to the team as frequently as possible.

      5. Celebrate the diverse identities of our participants as a core value of our team and as an effective way to develop a sense of belonging.
