Day 2 States Recap: Orfanoudakis and Reite Nationals Bound

SCAY had a long but exciting second day at the Y State Championship:

Damien Orfanoudakis qualified for nationals in the 1000 free and dropped time in the 200 back, placing second in a new SCAY record time of 1:58.11. 

The girls 13-14 200 free relay team of Isla Reite, Caroline Horning, Caylynn Dixon and Lily Behler  stormed to 5th place with a time of 1:43.36 while adjusting to a late change in order allowing Reite to qualify for nationals in the 50 freestyle. 

The team of Behler, Dixon, Reite, and Cassidy Donaghy dropped over 2 seconds to finish 4th in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:54.58.

Reite also swam a personal best of 1:59.61 to place 5th in the 200 free. 

In the 9-10 age group, Gracin Valentine placed 5th in the 50 free, and fourth in the 100 breast. Valentine and her teammates Callie Dixon, Tris Harvey, and Anna Fisher placed 10th in the 9-10 200 medley relay. 
 

in the 11-12 age group, Kingston Lin placed fourth in the 200 free and second in the 200 IM.  
Odin Leonard placed 4th in the 50 breaststroke. 
 

Mariano Fernandez-Murillo and Gavin Hagelhans joined Lin and Leonard to place 7th in the boys 11-12 200 free relay and 7th in the boys 200 medley relay.
