SWIM MEET DECLARATION INSTRUCTIONS
We encourage swimmers to attend as many meets as possible.
Coaches register swimmers for meets the week prior to them occurring. Sign-up is available in Team Unify a couple weeks prior to each meet. Parents are responsible for ensuring they have signed their swimmer up before the meet sign up deadline and to specify which events the swimmer wishes to race in.
Parents may simply write "coach’s choice" in the event column if they wish the coach to choose for their swimmer. Coaches will assign events based on the swimmer’s ability and their potential for success.
Not all events are offered at every meet. Each meet’s events will be posted on TeamUnify under that specific meet so that swimmers can see what options they have.
How to Sign-up or Decline a Swim Meet:
1. Login to your account.
2. Swim Meets are located in the Events tab at the top of the page.

9. Under Notes: Please fill in what events your swimmer would like to be entered in. Final approval is always the coach's decision.
10. Save Changes (bottom right).
Relays
Relays are offered at most meets. This is an opportunity for swimmers to join with 3 of their similar aged swim cohorts and to participate in a relay race against other teams. Parents must mark “yes” or “no” for relays in Team Unify so that the coaches can determine relay teams in advance. Relays generally are held at the end of the swim meet so if you are unable or unwilling to stay until the end of the meet, do not sign up for relays. If one relay member is not able to swim, the entire team is unable to swim. The coaches strongly encourage all swimmers to compete in relays and will do their best to ensure all swimmers receive that opportunity.
Declaration Window
If you will be away during the meet “sign up period”, please inform the coaches in advance if you want your swimmer registered in that particular meet. The coach will then sign up your child on your behalf.
Scratches
If for some reason you cannot attend a swim meet that you have registered for, please notify our head coach as soon as possible so the entry may be scratched. The Swim Club is not able to recoup entry fees for late cancellations. Failure to attend a swim meet previously committed to by a swimmer will result in the parents having to reimburse the Swim Club for the expense. No exceptions.
Region C Championship Meet (Regionals)
Regionals are being hosted July 25 - 27, 2025 in Camrose! Swimmers should discuss their event choices for Regionals with their coaches. Registration for Regionals will be similar to the regular season meets but there are more factors to consider. For example, if a swimmer is unable to participate at Provincials, they should not ask to be on a relay team for Regionals. They may, however, still participate in individual events.
Relay Teams for Regionals
Relay teams for Regionals are selected by the coaching staff based on the four fastest swimmers or the strongest relay team from appropriate age groups. As this is the Regional Championship meet, the coaches aim to assemble the most competitive teams possible.
