Thank You to The Homer Foundation!

Kachemak Swim Club would like to express their gratitude to the board of Trustees at the Homer Foundation for the generous gift of $500 as part of the People’s Choice Award program, as well as to the Opportunity Funds at the Homer Foundation and generous members of our community for the gift of $5,000 for our Swim Meet Equipment Upgrade project.

Kachemak Swim Club plays a very important part in the Homer community, teaching our youth the fundamentals of swimming, an essential life skill particularly for a maritime community, and we are honored to be presented with this award. As a result of these awards, Kachemak Swim Club will be able to purchase new gear for the swimmers and swim meet equipment. Specifically, with the gift from the People’s Choice Award, we hope to purchase new team swim caps for our swimmers, an integral part of our equipment which will enable our swimmers to perform their best when competing. The Swim Meet Equipment Upgrade project will allow us to purchase new equipment utilized in our swim meets. Having new, fully functional, equipment is vital to running swim meets where our swimmers compete and demonstrate the hard work they have put into practicing their strokes. It is also where our swimmers have a chance to interact with swimmers from other towns and cities in Alaska.
