Volunteer Job Descriptions

Lane Timers - There is really nothing better than the view from behind the blocks. Timers get a view into the world of swimming that cannot be seen from the stands. Volunteering to be a timer is one of the easiest, and most important jobs at a swim meet.

Hospitality – Hospitality involves providing food and refreshments for officials, coaches, and other volunteers.  We want a welcoming and comfortable environment for coaches, officials and volunteers to eat and relax during the meet.

Deck Expeditor - Keeps order on deck and serves as a runner for all positions on deck. Bring timing sheets to the table and ducks to heat winners, along with other duties as requested by Meet Director.

Announcer (Friday) - Great opportunity to use your public speaking skills! Announces sponsors, event/heat and any other important information during the meet.

Awards - Assist the awards coordinator with labeling (stickers) of award ribbons, sorting by team and swimmer, and preparing awards for mailing. (timeline is the week following the meet)

Concessions - Sales Counter Shift - Organize and sell goodies in the lobby, then sneak out when your kid swims.

KSC Merchandise Table Sales - Manage merchandise table sales in lobby.

Deck Set Up - Be prepared to follow instructions from Meet Manager prior to meet (sweeping, bleacher cleanup, vacuuming, etc. Readies the pool for swim meets according to official guidelines.

Deck Break Down - Be prepared to follow instructions from Meet Manager after meet (sweeping, bleacher cleanup, vacuuming, etc. Readies the pool for normal use after a swim meet.
