Want the Best Seat in the House? Become a USA Swimming Official!

Deanna Johnson KSC Team Admin

Did you know that every swim meet depends on having enough certified officials to run? Without them, meets simply can’t happen. That’s where you come in!  No experience is needed! Training and mentoring are provided. You don’t need a swimming background, just a willingness to learn and help.

Kachemak Swim Club is looking for parents and guardians to join our team of USA Swimming Officials. Becoming an official is one of the most impactful ways you can support your swimmer and the entire club.

Why become an official?

  • Support your swimmer and team – Meets require certified officials to run smoothly and fairly.

  • Be part of the action – Officials are on deck with the swimmers, not in the stands.

  • Learn more about the sport – From strokes to rules, you’ll gain insight into competitive swimming.

  • Flexibility – You choose how often to officiate: local meets, travel meets, or both.

  • Community – Join a supportive group of volunteers who keep youth swimming strong.

  • No cost to you – KSC will reimburse all fees associated with USA Swimming training and membership for officials.

  • Service hour credit – This volunteer position fulfills all required service hours for the season.

When you step up to officiate, you ensure that KSC swimmers and youth across Alaska have the chance to compete in well-run, fair meets. You’ll also be setting a great example of commitment and leadership for your swimmer.
