Snow Sharks Minnow School Coaches

Minnow School Coordinator Cade Bains
Cade Bains from Monument, Colorado Springs, and from a large family of swimmers. He will be working primarily with our Bronze 1 group. Coach Cade started swimming when he was 8 years old.  Throughout his swimming career he made several All-Area and All-State teams, competed at 5 Sectional Championship meets, and qualified for Junior Nationals by his senior year of high school. His swimming career continued at Lindenwood University, a Division II school in St. Charles, Missouri, where he specialized in the 200 IM and 400 IM. Since leaving college and moving back to his home state of Colorado, Cade has coached for several teams across the front range including the Woodmoor Waves Swim Team, Colorado STARS, and was most recently as the Head Age Group Coach at Pikes Peak Athletics for over three years. With his time at PPA, Cade helped the team achieve Bronze, then Silver medal club status multiple years running. He finished his time there with the team winning back-to-back 13 and Over State Championships and a 12 and Under State Championship the final season with PPA, helping swimmers to their first or more State, Sectionals, and Futures cuts. Cade’s past swim coaches have influenced him in their own unique ways, inspiring him to pass along his knowledge and passion for swimming. Coach Cade believes dedication, determination, and the desire to find comfort in being uncomfortable are the keys to success in and out of the water, but none of it is worth doing if you cannot have fun along the way.

Coach Cindy Huang
Cindy is currently a Junior at Basis Flagstaff. She has been in the water ever since she was a little kid, and has been competitively swimming since she was 8. She moved to Flagstaff in 2019 and has been training on the Snow Sharks ever since, so she was excited to have an opportunity to coach with the lessons program. Her favorite events are the 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly. She is so excited to work with the next generation of swimmers in Flagstaff!

Coach Kennedy Muhs
Kennedy's coaching and teaching career began in 2017 with J-Swim at the Jewish Community Center in Scottsdale, AZ. Since then, she has worked with the City of Scottsdale, FH Swim Academy, and Maverick Aquatics coaching almost every age and level, all the while learning and growing her knowledge of swimming from many influential mentors. Her competitive swimming career started with Scottsdale Aquatic Club when she was 11. Her senior year, Fountain Hills High School started a team so she was happy to be able to compete in AIA. SAC and FHHS Swim taught her how to love exercise and the value of hard work. Leading her to Colorado Mesa University to pursue a Bachelor’s of Exercise Science, Minor in Business Administration, and Certificate of Personal Training. While at CMU, she swam for their College Club Swim Team and had the opportunity to travel to Georgia Tech and The Ohio State for Nationals! CCS is a great opportunity for swimmers that want a smaller swimming commitment in college (reach out to me and I’d love to talk about it more)! After graduating from CMU in May of 2023, Kennedy moved to Flagstaff to attend Northern Arizona University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. She is a full time grad student, so she is grateful for the opportunity to coach for the Snowsharks as swimming has been, and always will be, an important part of her life!
