Make each swimmer a little better EVERY day!

I have been involved with swimming, in one capacity or another, for over 40 years.  Swimming has always been a passion of mine, even before my journey began.  I started swimming competitively at the age of 8 years old in Southern California, hanging up my goggles more than 12 years later.  My favorite events were the 100/200 backstroke.  My most memorable swim was the 100 yard backstroke at my final HS State Meet back in 1983.

Two years after leaving the sport, I realized how much I missed the sport of swimming and the impact it had on my life.  So I was eager to pursue a career as a competitive swim coach.  My high school swim coach gave me my first coaching opportunity and the rest is history.  I began my career in aquatics; coaching and teaching swimming lessons.  Swimming has impacted my  life far beyond what I had imagined.  If it wasn’t for swimming, I would've never met my wife Michelle (also a swimmer). Additionally, after retiring from coaching I find myself poolside again, but this time as a swim-parent watching my daughter Peyton continue the family legacy.

I have coached swimmers at all competitive levels and abilities from: lessons to learn-to-swim programs, age-group to senior levels, high school to collegiate athletes, and adult masters swimmers.  Over my 17 years, I have been blessed to have coached and developed swimmers that have reached or exceeded their goals.  My background includes proven success training, coaching, guiding and supervising athletes to meet their personal physical goals and enhance their team performance. Some notable goals are: Olympic trials qualifier, Sr. and Jr. National qualifiers, Sectionals, Zones, and many more achievements at all levels.

I am excited and honored to be coaching Bettendorf Aquatics Club. Bettendorf Aquatics Club has a long standing tradition of excellence and I plan to continue this tradition. The focus is on a technical approach to the sport that places emphasis on accountability, education and motivation for swimmers to reach their full potential.  Connecting and building trusting relationships with every athlete, providing guidance and advice related to swimming as well as academic goals, is key to our success.

I look forward to working with each swimmer to exceed their individual goals and dreams.
