The swimming competition at the 2013 Summer Universaide taking place in Kazan, Russia gets underway tomorrow and five TSC swimmers attending the University of Toronto will be representing Canada at the Games.  For the uninitiated, the Univesaide is basically the World University Student Games and often refered to as the FISU Games. Over the weekend, TSC sent a full team of our best age group swimmers to the Ontario Age Group Championships in Brantford, Ontario.  As a team TSC finished 2nd overall in the team standings and garnered 43 medals (37 individual and 6 relay). Standing out were the girls 13-14 year old relay teams that went a perfect 4-for-4 winning gold medals in both freestyle relays and both medley relays as well! Over the June 27-30th weekend, TSC traveled to Montreal to compete at the Canada Cup outdoor meet at the beautiful Complexe aquatique Parc Jean-Drapeau. This past weekend 97 TSC athletes represented our club at the 2013 Central Region Long Course Championships. We had a number of top 8 finishes and high point winners! TSC swimmers Blake Worsley (pictured)(200 free) and Zack Chetrat (200 fly) each won their events and were named to Canada’s World Championship Team to compete this summer in Barcelona Spain.   Edward Liu took the silver medal in the 100 fly and stands to be named to Canada’s World Student Games team competing in Moscow Russia.
