HOME MEET REQUIREMENTS
HOME MEET REQUIREMENTS
It is a big job to host our own meets. We need all families to volunteer in many ways. The benefits for our kids to be able to swim in their own pool and not have to travel and stay at a hotel is worth the work. Swim meets also are a big fundraiser for our team.
Food – Cynthia Martineau is our food coordinator. We need to feed between 60 – 80 officials and coaches over the weekend (for each session). All families will be required to make a food donation for the meals on Saturday. To help us all out, Cynthia will be arranging Sunday to be catered. A fee will be added to the meet fees to cover this cost.
Officiating – It takes around 50 officials to run each session. We need all families to volunteer. Below are the requirements for the January meet.
Senior – minimum of 3 sessions
Age Group – minimum of 2 sessions
Jr BYST (who swam in our Nov meet) – minimum of 1 session
Jr BYST (first swim meet) – no requirement
We are able to sign up as officials on the Ontario Swim Officials Association (OSOA) website. It is important that all our officials use the site for registering for a job. (This does not include food or sales jobs or runners.)
To sign up for sessions –
1. Go to OSOA.ca
2. Log in – you will need to create an account if you do not have one
3. Click on the MEETS tab at the top of the page
4. Click on REGISTER FOR MEET
5. Find our Snowy Canada Eh meet
6. Click on SELECT A SESSION
7. Find the session(s) you want to work and click on REGISTER
8. Fill in the box with the position you want

We will also need people to help clean up after the meet on Sunday. If you would like to volunteer for this, please let Kim know.
