Beast Open Up The Swim Season at the Pan Am Pool
The Beast had 55 swimmers race at the competition. The team managed to take off 1670 seconds; almost 28 minutes dropped! There were 24 swimmers who achieved 100 percent best times.
Francis Brennan broke three team records, the 50m and 200m backstroke (27.87 and 2:06.40, respectively), and the 100m freestyle (53.90). He placed first in both backstroke races and is currently ranked 2nd in Canada in the 200m backstroke and 3rd in the 50m backstroke, amongst 14 year old males.
Emily Hudacin broke the 11-12 team record in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 38.86 and collected first place in the event. She also won the 100m and 200m breaststroke events.
Austin Williams broke his own 13-14 team record in the 100m breaststroke, lowering his time to 1:12.57.
Other first place finishers included Alyssa Barnes (50m butterfly), Alivia King (200m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 100m Individual Medley), Caden Mecky (100m and 200m bacstroke) and Abbi Solomon (50m breaststroke).
