Team Showdown 2024

January 7, 2024 – CAJ had an incredible showing at the 2024 Team Showdown in Brantford in December. With new personal bests, stellar times, new WOSA and OSC qualifiers, Team Showdown 2024 was one for the books! The Cambridge Aquajets came to COOK!

Team Showdown is an annual challenge meet where the goal is to score points by placing in the top 16 of each race. Teams are ranked by a ratio of # of points to # of athletes; the team with the greatest ratio wins the meet. With a whopping 1108.5 points, CAJ showed up and raced hard, placing 5th in total points and 12th by points per athlete.

Some highlights of the meet:

  • Over 60% personal best times, many swimmers improving on very old times and rising to new races.

 

  • 8 Gold, 9 Silver, 7 Bronze

  • Special shoutout to Andrew Rush who was a standout swimmer at this meet. Not only did he achieve a personal best in almost all of his races, he qualified for OSCs in the 400 IM! Congratulations Andrew!

 

The coaches are especially proud of our novice swimmers who competed in their first multi-day swim meet of the year and put 110% effort into their races. We had many of our athletes compete in 100’s and 200’s for the first time and did an excellent job.
