Volunteering with Cambridge Aquajets
Volunteering is a required part of your swimmer’s membership. The club relies on parent volunteers to help run meets and fundraising events—we need your time, not your money.
Volunteer Commitment Requirements
- Each family must complete 3 volunteer commitments per swim season:
- min. 1 between September and January
- 2 between February and May (or the balance of 3)
- Only one parent per family (not per swimmer) needs to fulfill the requirement
- If a commitment is missed, a $300 fee per missed commitment will be charged
Swim Meet Volunteering
Swim meets are a key part of swimmer development—and each meet we host needs 40–50 volunteers to run smoothly.
Volunteer roles may include:
- Timers and officials
- Set-up and clean-up
- Hospitality and more
How to volunteer:
- Sign-up will be posted online about 1 month before the meet
- You’ll receive an email notification when volunteer sign-up opens
- Visit our Officials page to learn more about becoming an official
Bingo Nights
Bingo is one of our most effective fundraisers and helps keep fees low. The club is assigned at least one bingo shift per month, and we must provide trained volunteers.
To volunteer at Bingo:
- You must complete a 90-minute training session at the Cambridge Bingo Centre:
- 255 Elgin Street North, Cambridge
- If you've done training through another club, you don’t need to retake it
- Once trained, you’ll receive emails with available shifts (daytime and evening options)
To get started or ask questions, email our Bingo Coordinator.
