Josh Sorensen
Assistant Head Coach
Coaches- Academy/National & Jr National

This will be my 11th year in coaching, and the 2nd year of my second stint with LASC. In my first stretch with LASC I spent six years in various coaching roles working with groups from Jr. Horns to National. During this time I was also served as the Assistant Coach for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns. In the interim, I spent four years as the Head Coach of both the Fort St. John Inconnu in B.C., and the Halifax Trojans in Nova Scotia, for two years each.

During my time as a coach, I have been blessed to have worked with a number of great athletes, leading to a few accomplishments:

  • Swim Nova Scotia  Coach of the Year - 2024
  • Swim Nova Scotia  Performance Coach of the Year - 2024
  • Swim Nova Scotia  Next Gen Program - Coach (2022-2024)
  • Coach of record for  8x Individual Provincial Records,  Junior Male Swimmer of the Year - 2024 and  Junior Female Swimmer of the Year - 2024
  • Swim Alberta  Future Coaches Program - 2018 & 2019

I look forward to the forthcoming year, and those to come.

Kaila Primrose
Olympic Way 1 & OW Lead Coach
Coaches - OW1 and Leads OW groups

Kaila is excited to be back with LASC for the 2025/2026 season!
Her swimming journey started with LASC when she was 8 years old. From there, she swam with the Excalibur Swim Team in Lethbridge through high school, and then continued her career with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns. During her four years as a varsity athlete, she was a relay record holder and team captain.
Kaila has been coaching for more than 10 years. She first started with the Excalibur Swim Team while still in high school and later became their head coach. After moving to Edmonton, she spent five years coaching with the Olympian Swim Club. Over the years, she has worked with swimmers of all levels—from pre-competitive to national qualifiers.
She is thrilled to once again coach the Olympic Way swimmers and share her experience and passion for the sport!
