May Newsletter #2

Josh Sorensen

Hello LASC Families,

I hope everyone was able to enjoy the long weekend and were able to get some relaxation or family time in. We are starting to get back into a bit of a flurry of meets and events, so please see below for information on a couple of items.

Past Meets

Canadian Masters Nationals

This past weekend we had two of our Masters swimmers make the trip out to Saskatoon where they competed in the ever fun, Canadian Championships for Masters. Dee Kennedy won medals in each of her 4 events for the 70-74 category, meanwhile John Lapins won a pair of titles in the 50 and 100 Back to highlight what was a wonderful weekend for the two swimmers.

Alberta Summer Festivals - Lethbridge, June 13th - 15th

We are excited to be hosting this year’s Summer Festival here at home in Lethbridge. Our club will be hosting the meet alongside Swim Alberta as we welcome the top developing talents in the province. Festivals serve as the premier 12&U swim meet in Alberta and the short course meet is sure to see lots of fast swimming. For those qualified in the Provincial and Jr. National groups, we highly encourage you to attend the meet. We will need volunteer help from our membership in running this meet so we can be great hosts for this provincial event.
