Canada West University Championships (Tickets here)

Thank you to all of the parents, swimmers, family members, and friends who have signed up to volunteer at the Canada West Championships. This is one of the premier short course meets in the nation as Canada West is the fastest university conference in the country and the meet will boast a number of Olympians and National Team members in attendance.

For any fans of swimming or young swimmers looking to see what the University level of swimming is like, this is an awesome way to show them a first hand experience of what fast swimming is. I highly recommend any LASC swimmer not helping or volunteering this weekend to grab some tickets and come out to watch at least one finals session. University meets have a different energy and excitement to them and it’s great for young swimmers to come and see.

For those looking to support the Pronghorns, LASC, and University Sport, this is a great way to show the university there is interest and support for sports like swimming. We have a number of LASC alumni competing for University of Lethbridge and we want to show them and the team our support. Meets are most fun when there is crowd noise and energy added to each swim, we want to showcase to the rest of the teams what a great home team environment we have. And with the weather on the forecast looking chilly this weekend, what better place to warm up than at the pool!

AMAC Meet Recap

Last weekend, 48 LASC swimmers made the quick trip east to Medicine Hat to partake in the 2025 AMAC Fall Invitational. The meet hosted swimmers from teams across Southern Alberta and Southern Saskatchewan with almost 200 total attendees.

This was one of the biggest groups LASC has taken to the Medicine Hat meet in a few seasons and we were very happy to see such a great turnout. The swimmers performed excellently as we had another meet where every swimmer in attendance garnered a new best time in at least one event.

On the medal table, the team took away 34 Gold, 39 Silver, and 34 Bronze medals for a total of 107. We also saw more than 20 swimmers race a new event. Whether it was an entirely new event they’ve never swam or the first time racing the event short course, we saw plenty of swimmers step up to new challenges full of spirit and enthusiasm.  From start to finish, as always, our swimmers showed great team camaraderie as they cheered for each other, grew as teammates and friends, and made great memories.
