Friday Night Race Results - November 21st

Thank you to everyone who came out for our second Friday Night Races of the season. We had another great turnout, with over 75 swimmers from across all groups participating. We want to give a very big thank you to the parents and family members who came to volunteer for timing, we can't run an event like this without you.

This was our last Friday Night Races of 2025, our next rendition will be in the New Year, with some exciting news.

Our event has been sponsored and we are very happy to announce the Hotson Plumbing and Gas Fitting Friday Night Races upcoming on February 13th. With their generous help we are going to be adding ribbons to the event and creating a better experience for your swimmers. We can't wait to see the improvements the swimmers will have made by then.

Canada West University Championships

Thank you to all of the parents, swimmers, family members, and friends who volunteered at the Canada West Championships this past weekend. This event provides itself as a very large fundraiser for the club and we couldn’t run it without the help of our fantastic swim community.

Hopefully, those who were there on deck or came as attendees were inspired by the fast and exciting results. One of the big highlights from the weekend was 2x Olympian Kayla Sanchez from the UBC Thunderbirds swimming times in the 50 Back and 50 Free that now have her ranked within the Top 10 in the World this season and the Senior Alberta Provincial Record falling in the Men’s 100 Fly to Calgary swimmer Nicholas Duncan. Having world class racing in our own pool is always an exciting prospect, and I hope many of the swimmers were able to get excited and motivated by the fast swimming.

Our home team Pronghorns had a fantastic weekend with a 4th place team finish for both Men’s and Women’s programs to go along with over 40 personal bests across both Men’s and Women’s teams, and the women claiming 3 Individual Records and 3 Relays Records. Another huge accomplishment was Meadow LIversuch (LASC alumni) winning the Community Service Award for Canada West for her contributions to the Lethbridge community. This marks the second straight year in which a Pronghorn and LASC Alumni has won the Community Service Award (Makena Wood ‘24), which is a testament to the quality of character within and leading our programs.
