LOSC is proud to announce that Julia Strojnowska has committed to Auburn University to further her athletic and academic career. Julia is a talented Freestyler, having represented Team Canada at this past summer's 9th World Aquatics Junior Championships in Israel, winning a Bronze Medal. We wish her all the best and look forward to seeing her peform on the American collegiate stage!
Over this past weekend, 7 LOSC swimmers (Jihoon Bae, Leila Fack, Justin Jung, Ashley Ko, Macey Larson, Julia Strojnowska and Alex Velicico) were selected to represent Team BC at the Odlum Brown Colleges Cup hosted by the UBC Thunderbirds. This team of impressive high schoolers matched up against collegiate-level swimmers and placed 3rd overall on the Women's side and 4th on the Men's. LOSC Elite Group swimmer Collyn Gagne represented Team Canada at the 2023 Panam Games held in Santiago, Chile from October 20th to November 5th. These games brought together 41 countries to compete in 60 different sports, with a similar format to the Olympic Games. This past week, Gagne competed in the 400 IM and 200 IM events, winning a silver medal in the 400 (4:17.05) and closely placing 4th in the 200 (2:00.79). Congratulations Collyn! This past weekend at the annual Team Aquatic Supplies/Swim BC Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet in Whistler, LOSC was presented with the "2023 Club of the Year Award". As the club of the year, LOSC was the top scoring club at both Winter and Summer BC Provincial Championships. We sent 14 swimmers to the Canadian Swimming Trials, 27 swimmers to the Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships and 13 swimmers were selected to the Swim BC CSI Pacific Program. LOSC swimmers Danny Park and Alex Velicico have been selected for Swimming Canada's "2023 National Development Program ID Team"! Selection is based on long course performances, focusing on progressing to the Senior National Team and International podium success. They have been chosen among all the male swimmers of the same age in Canada. This is a great opportunity for swimmers to receive recognition and experience specialized programming that will allow them to further their talents. Congratulations boys!

Dear Families, On Wednesday October 25 2021, the Provincial Health Order was updated to require “all adult (19+) leading, supervising, or assisting a sport program for children and youth to have received two doses of vaccine and provided proof of vaccination.
