History

The Pacific Sea Wolves Swim Club was formed in 1977 under the name of Semiahmoo Marlins. In 1980, the swimmers chose the name Pacific Sea Wolves, which is an Indigenous peoples term for killer whales in a hunting pod. Our club logo features Native American artwork depicting the Sea Wolf and is one of the most artistically beautiful logos in the swimming community.

Background

Our club membership has traditionally included swimmers from ages 6 and up who live primarily in the South Surrey/ White Rock areas as well as from the Cloverdale community. We train out of Grandview Heights with the swim season for the average swimmer running from September until the end of June.
The Pacific Sea Wolves Swim Club is a non-profit society, with income received from monthly fees from its members and from various fundraising activities. The money is directed towards pool rental, coaching salaries, travel, and club administration.

Operations

The club operates out of Grandview Heights Aquatic Center. The main programming occurs at Grandview Aquatic Centre with the top groups traveling a couple of times each week to Fleetwood in order to access the long course pool time.
The Board of Directors (Executive) meets every month. You, as a member in good standing, are invited to these meetings as an observer. The date and time of these meetings are published in the previous months minutes which are posted on our webite. If you wish to address the Board on a specific item, you may do so at any time, provided you contact the Club President and ask to be placed on the agenda for that particular meeting.
The club has one General Meeting per year, usually in November or December. All club members are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting.
