15 years of coaching experience Jy began her coaching career at the
University of Calgary Swim Club and coached there while
getting her degree in Kinesiology. She has been coaching
here since 2011, marking this as her 14th year coaching with
PSW.

Jy is also a certified yoga instructor, personal trainer and Olympic Weightlifting coach. Prior to coaching, Jy swam for PSW throughout highschool and been involved with the club since 2002.
This is
Ben's 3rd season wth PSW. Coaching full-time since 2009, Ben has
worked with multiple National qualifiers and now National record
holders. His first 11 years of coaching were with Haney Seahorses
and multiple summer clubs. He spent 4 years as the Seahorses’
Head Coach then moved over to PSW in 2021. He is excited to lead
the new PSW Provincial group and work with our excellent staff to
create a constant stream of performance in years to
come.

This is Reese’s second year coaching with PSW after coaching for four years with Langley Olympians Swim Club. Before coaching, she swam competitively for 9 years at the provincial level. Currently, Reese is studying her bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences at SFU. With her passion for the sport and commitment to personal and athletic development, she is looking forward to helping each swimmer pursue their goals.
Amy has been involved in swimming for as long as she can remember. She began her coaching career in the BCSSA and spent 10 summers there. In 2007 she also began coaching year round with the Richmond Rapids. In 2009 Amy joined the Winskill Dolphins Coaching staff, where she coached for 8 seasons. She spent 3 years as the Assistant Head Coach, 2 years as the Head Development Coach and her final 2 seasons were as the Head Coach for the club.
In 2012 Amy was named Swim BC’s 11-12 Age Group Coach of the Year and has coached swimmers to numerous Club and Provincial records. She has also had 2 swimmers break 12& Under Canadian Age Group records and had a Para swimmer set multiple Canadian S14 Records. Amy has had the opportunity to coach on several Provincial teams, including being a member of the coaching staff at the 2013 Canada Summer Games. She has also coached and traveled on 4 Para National Team trips.
Amy is a Level 3 trained Coach and has worked with swimmers from the LMR level all the way up to swimmers competing at Olympic Trials. She has coached swimmers to 25 Age Group Championship Medals, 5 Western Canadian Championship medals, 9 Canada Summer Games Medals as well as 3 International Medals at the Para Pan Pacific Games in 2014.
Amy is entering her 3rd season with PSW and is beyond excited to be taking on her new role as Head Development Coach and overseeing the entire 10 & Under program. She looks forward to bringing her energy, knowledge, passion for and love of swimming to her groups and the club.
Alex is thrilled to dive into his 8th season as a member of the PSW coaching staff. With a decade of experience in the swimming world, Alex has worn multiple hats, representing the club not only as a dedicated swimmer but also as a passionate coach. Alex is NCCP 201 Trained and is working towards his 201 certification and also NCCP 101 Certified. Outside of the pool, Alex is pursuing his academic career studying Criminology at Douglas College in hopes of becoming a Police Officer in the coming years. He is very excited to be joining the club for yet another year and is very excited to see his swimmers progress throughout the season.

Vanessa is a dedicated swim coach who brings her experience as a former competitive swimmer to her role. She has many years of experience in the sport, starting out in Pacific Sea Wolves and continuing her journey all the way through to the national level. Now in her second year of coaching, she is passionate about developing young swimmers and is NCCP 101 Certified. Vanessa works with children aged 6-10 across various skill levels, including Sea Puppies, Bronze, and Silver groups. Outside of the pool, she enjoys hanging out with friends, shopping, and binge-watching Greys Anatomy on Netflix. She is excited to continue working with the swimmers and watch their development progress.
