National Group

The swimmers in the National Group at PSW are working towards qualifying for Western Canadian Championships and beyond.  Swimmers in this group are 13yrs of age and older as of Mar. 21, 2024, with some post secondary swimmers as well. The swimmers in this group are some of the top swimmers in the province and in the country, and show dedication, motivation and focus. 

Swimmers in this group are continuing to develop their technical and tactical skills, with a large focus being on training to perform at peek meets throughout the season. Attendance at all training times and a commitment to the full meet schedule is mandatory at this level, along with being able to manage school commitments without significant and ongoing misses to the training program. Dedication, commitment, consistent work ethic, and a desire to excel are all traits that will help swimmers to be successful at this level of sport. There is a focus at this level of developing a complete athlete, where swimmers, when they exit the program, have the ability and knowledge needed to excel in all areas of their life. Communication with the Head Coach is mandatory for all issues. Failure to meet this group's requirements will result in re-evalutation by the Head Coach of the swimmer's position in this program. Entry into this program requires 85% attendance and within 2% of at least one Western Championship time for the age they will as of Mar. 21, 2024.

 

 

Provincial Group

The swimmers in the Provincial Group at PSW are working towards qualifying for BC Provincial Championships and beyond.  Swimmers in this group are 12yrs of age and older as of Mar. 7, 2024, with some post secondary swimmers as well. The swimmers in this group are some of the top swimmers in the province and show dedication, motivation and focus. 

Swimmers in this group are continuing to develop their technical and tactical skills, with a large focus being on learning to race throughout the season. Attendance at all training times and a commitment to the full meet schedule is mandatory at this level, along with being able to manage school commitments without significant and ongoing misses to the training program. Dedication, commitment, consistent work ethic, and a desire to excel are all traits that will help swimmers to be successful at this level of sport. There is a focus at this level of developing a complete athlete, where swimmers, when they exit the program, have the ability and knowledge needed to excel in all areas of their life. Communication with the group Coach is mandatory for all issues. Failure to meet this group's requirements will result in re-evalutation by the Head Coach of the swimmer's position in this program. Entry into this program requires 80% attendance and within 2% of at least one BC Provincial Championship time for the age they will be as of Mar. 7, 2024.

 

 

Divisional Group

 

The swimmers in the Divisional Group at PSW are working towards qualifying for BC Provincial Championships and beyond.  Swimmers in this group are 11yrs of age and older as of Feb. 23, 2024. The swimmers in this group are some of the top swimmers in the division and show dedication, motivation and focus. 

Swimmers in this group are continuing to develop their technical and tactical skills, with a large focus being on learning to train throughout the season. Attendance at all training times and a commitment to the full meet schedule is mandatory at this level, along with being able to manage school commitments without significant and ongoing misses to the training program. Dedication, commitment, consistent work ethic, and a desire to excel are all traits that will help swimmers to be successful at this sport. There is a focus at this level of developing a complete athlete, where swimmers, when they exit the program, have the ability and knowledge needed to excel in all areas of their life. Communication with the group Coach is mandatory for all issues. Failure to meet this group's requirements will result in re-evalutation by the Head Coach of the swimmer's position in this program. Entry into this program requires 75% attendance and at least one 100m event or longer Fraser & Island Divisional Championship time for the age they will be as of Feb. 23, 2024.
