Titans LMR Recap

The last weekend of November saw close to 30 PSW athletes  from the Youth Development, Youth Regional and Senior Competitive groups compete at the Ridge Meadows LMR.

Standouts from the YD group included Aanya S., Hermione W., Marina S. and Eva S. who went 5/6 personal bests over the weekend. This included a 20" drop for Eva S and a 14" drop for Hermione W. in the 200 IM, which qualifies both girls for LMR Champs in June, congrats!! Emily T & Raya G both also competed in their first LMR meet, with Raya G dropping over 7" from her 50 Fly time and Emily racing 200 FS for the 1st time ever.  Charlotte A. also raced in 200 FS and dropped close to 5" from her previous best times. It was great to see these girls get up and race and Coach Amy cannot wait to see where they are next time they dive off the blocks.

The Youth Regional group had a great meet at the Titans Invitational.

- Edward W outperformed all of his backstroke events with incredibly consistent kicks and strong underwaters! Edward has put in a lot of quality work in practice and needless to say it very much paid off. Well done Edward!
- Thomas Z had notable 200 FR and 100 BK events, also well swam with consistent and strong kicks that carried him throughout the entire race
- It has been a while since Jolene Z has raced but in every event she always put up a strong race against her competitors with her incredibly powerful kicks!
- Despite being disqualified, Jialin A swam a strong 200 BR and looks forward to his next chance to race this event and beat his upcoming goals
- Benny L came better prepared to this meet when racing all of his 200m events. Benny showed great skill in attacking the middle 100 where most swimmers tend to tire out, however Benny continued to race through the tough areas well.
- Jillian C also had a great and fun meet going 100% best times!

Overall this meet was a great experience for swimmers to learn more about how to race and going all out. Well done to all the Youth Regionals who attended, Coach Darlene was very impressed with everyone's effort and is excited to see how they perform in December

The Senior Competitive had a strong weekend racing. Wyatt O. had an awesome 200 IM achieving a new PB and breaking 3 minutes! Sean H. had a phenomenal weekend in all his races and got 100% best times. Sandra V. had a speedy 100 FR dropping 8 seconds, with amazing kicks off every wall. As a group we have been working on underwater and streamlines in practices and I was happy to see that all the swimmers tried their best on every wall in every race! As a group we will continue to work on turns, touches, and, underwaters as (the fundamentals) of all races. Coach Reese is excited to see even more improvement over the next swim meets. 

These 3 groups next compete at the Spartan LMR this upcoming weekend and we cannot wait to see how the swimmers continue to progress.
