2024 BC Summer North & Interior Divisional Championships
The Vernon Kokanee Swim Club was the host of the 2024 BC Summer North & Interior Divisional Championships from June 21-23.
30 VKSC swimmers were racing their hearts out. 16 teams were competing with each other. The Kokanee’s had a very successful meet with 13 new provincial qualifying times and added 2 new qualified swimmers to our total of 12 swimmers who made the provincial standard.

Among the 16 teams at the divisional championships, VKSC placed 3rd overall within the division.
Provincial qualification times came from Emily Adam in 200, 400, 1500 m Freestyle. Zion Ellis qualified in 50 Breast, 50 and 100 m Freestyle. Abby Helm qualified in the 50 m Breaststroke. Niya Kashuba made her time in the 50 Back. Kubrick Reed made the men’s standard in the 13-14 50 100 m Butterfly. Hera Serzane qualified in the 50 Freestyle. Kaeden Uesson qualified in the 200 m Backstroke, 400 m IM and 100 m Freestyle. The swimmers join in with qualifiers Julia Brandner, Brea Duncan, Asher VanderDeen, Mariia Kuzmenko and Alex Puchkov.
As a team the VKSC swimmers set personal best times in 183 races.
100% Best times came from Rowan Brett, Eden Ellis, Zion Ellis, Anders Erikson, Aurora Hamilton, Kubrick Reed, Hera Serzane, Kilian Russell, Kubrick Reed, Cadel Simms, Kaeden Uesson, Korbin Wade.
New Club Records: Kubrick Reed in the Boys 13-14 50 m Breaststroke with a time of 31.91. With racing the 4 x 100 Mixed Medley Relay we set a new club record in the Girls 15&O 200 m Medley Relay with a time of 2:06.70. Racing the event was Niya Kashuba, Zion Ellis, Julia Brandner and Hera Serzane. In the Mixed 400 m Free Relay we set new club records in the Mixed 12&U with a time of 4:49.30. Racing the event was Korbin Wade, Kaeden Uesson, Violet Jenner and Aurora Hamilton. In the Mixed 13-14 with a time of 4:35.47. Racing the event was Hera Serzane, Maria Kuzmenko, Rowan Brett, Kilian Russell. In the Mixed 15&O with a time of 4:06.34. Racing the event was Zion Ellis, Anders Erikson, Niya Kashuba, and Nathan Hubbard.
Top drops in time came from Kaeden Uesson in the 1500 m Freestyle with a drop of 110.71 seconds. Other very notable drops came in the following races:
