Senior Performance

Senior Performance (At coaches discretion - 14 Hours)

Overview:

Senior Performance is a performance-oriented training tier, working in the Train to compete phase of the AADM (Swimmers demonstrating potential for Provincial, and National level competition). Athletes in this tier demonstrate the following.
Ownership: Athletes understand what their goals are and take appropriate action in pursuit of them, they swim for themselves and not for coaches, parents, or any external motivators.
Commitment: Athletes are passionate about swimming and pursue it as their primary activity, attending all scheduled training sessions on a weekly basis. (Exceptions made for illness, family plans, etc when communicated with head coach), and Participation in both local and travel competitions
Communication: Swimmers in this tier openly and frequently communicate with the head coach (RE absences, race schedules, injuries or illness, and more).
Growth Mindset: Athletes are expected to embrace challenges and come to training prepared to learn, with an understanding that both failure and success are opportunities for improvement

Parent Commitment:

  1. Arrange to have your swimmer attend all practices and as many of the other offered camps and events as possible.  You are highly encouraged to initiate carpooling with other parents in the group or similar group schedule at this stage.
  2. Stay informed by reading and responding to:emails, website, bulletin board.  Communicate with your swimmer’s coach on a regular basis via email, post-practice chat, or scheduled meetings.
