Charles A. Maxwell Award

Awarded to one girl and one boy, whose many seasons of perserverance and cooperation have been a positive factor in the overall improvement of the team.   Eligible nominees are selected by the coaching staff with the recipients selected by the Head Coach.   To be considered for this award, nominees must exhibit the same degree of dedication toward the sport of swimming as did master swimmer Charles Maxwell.  Charles was a Black Rock State Park lifeguard who swam 2 miles a day, every day.   Recipients of this award are presented trophies and have his and her names permanently displayed on a plaque at the Town of Watertown Park and Recreation office.
