Chris Stoner (Excel Head Coach)

I was born in Puyallup where I swam for the PUyallup Aquatic Club and later South Sound Titans.  At the age of 11, I moved to Davis California and swam for the Davis Aquadarts.  I continued to swim throughout college and beyond with the Davis Aquatic Masters.  My main events are the 100 and 200 butterfly and the 200 and 400 IM and occasionally try sprint freestyle.  I began to coach for the Summerdart program, an 8 week swim summer league, in 2005 and became a full time coach for the Aquadarts in 2010 while I attended UC Davis.

I started coaching with Excel in 2017 and took over as head coach in 2021.  I have loved getting to know and working with the members of our swimming community.  My goal is to provide an inclusive and positive space in which swimmers can pursue their goals, make friends, and find their own success.

Megan Radvick (Aqua Club Site Lead)

I am a Seattle native and began my swimming career at the age of 11.  I swam for recreational, high school, and club swimming teams. I became a coach in 1995 for the Sand Point Country Club and then began coaching at Excel in the fall of 2000 .I love coaching all ages, as each one has its own challenges and rewards. I am also the assistant Bothell High School girls swim team coach and Head Coach of the Aqua Club swim team.

My goal for each of my swimmers is to give them the tools to be successful not only in the pool but outside of it as well, by teaching them to respect themselves as well as others, to work hard, and to never give up.

Maddie Hayden (Meadowbrook and Sand Point)

Hi, my name is Maddie! I'm a proud graduate of Seattle Pacific University (2023) with a swimming journey that kicked off at Aqua Club when I was 9 years old. Starting at the age of 11, I swam for Excel and later swam for Inglemoor High School. I have been coaching Excel since 2019, Aqua Club since 2020, and the Garfield High School swim teams since 2021.

For me, swimming isn't just a sport; it's a way of life. I've found my stride, discipline, and resilience in the water. Now, I'm stoked to share that passion with you all. For me, coaching isn't just about helping athletes win races; it's about guiding them to be their best selves, in and out of the pool.

Tyler Lippold (Aqua Club)

I grew up swimming in the Seattle area, doing summer league, high school and club swimming, including being on Excel its inaugural year as a team. I have been coaching since 2009; spent eleven years coaching high school, been coaching various summer league teams since 2016, and year-round club swimming 2012.

My passions in life consist of the following, in order: my cat, coaching, movies/novels.

Dom Nouwens (Aqua Club and Sand Point)

I was born in Shoreline, with my first swimming experience being with the Shoreline Gators when I was 5 years old. I continued to swim through High School, finishing my senior year with a captaincy and All Wesco First Team Honors.

Once in college I pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Math and a Bachelor of Science in Education, and now moonlight as a math teacher for 6th-12th graders.

I have over 10 years of coaching experience from Hillwood Soccer, Dale Turner Family YMCA Orcas Swim Team, Yost Penguins Swim Team, Innis Arden Swim Team, Shorewood Water Polo, and Innis Arden Water Polo. My coaching philosophy has and always will be centered on individual athletes' needs and goals. I strive to challenge all swimmers to meet and exceed their own standards, while maintaining a positive and healthy relationship with the sport.

Mallory Marquiss (Site Lead Meadowbrook)

My love for swimming began around the age of eight when I joined my first swim team, Sand Point C.C. At age twelve, I started swimming year round on Excel! I continued my swimming career throughout high school at Blanchet, where I exceeded in the 50 free and 100 fly.  I have been very lucky to have also coached for both Sand Point and Excel. I can’t wait to be back for another season to support our athletes in achieving their personal goals in the pool!

Jaden Maynard (Aqua Club and Sand Point)

I grew up in Utah and joined the club swim team when I was 12 after a gymnastics accident left me unable to tumble. What started as a second choice sport and physical therapy turned into my new favorite activity.  I went on to do high school swimming, lifeguarding, lifeguard instruction, and teaching swim lessons at the local pool. I swam with the college rec team at Weber State University while doing my undergrad in community health, CA sciences.  In October of 2020 I moved to Washington on a whim after visiting earlier that summer and falling in love with all the greenery! I am so excited to be coaching and recreating some of my most fond memories of games, funky drills, and having a safe environment to swim and have fun! I spend my days crafting, volunteering, enjoying beautiful Seattle weather (yes, the rain is my favorite), and am hopeful to go back to school this fall into Environmental Engineering!

Monica Edwards (Aqua Club and Medalist Dryland Specialist)

My passion for swimming began later in life when I discovered the benefits of a lifelong sport that provided an opportunity for cardio workouts combined with a full range of motion activity. The swim community has united my family and neighborhood with a shared interest and extended activities that continue even now with two grown children!  I’ve taught in the Edmonds School District for over 30 years in a variety of positions, but primarily, middle school Health & Fitness.  I’ve worked as a swim coach and a dryland coach for both Cascade and the Aqua Club. Excel’s philosophy of celebrating swimmers at whatever level of participation they desire is what interested me most in work with Excel. I’m excited to be part of the Excel community!

Olivia Muillenburg (Aqua Club and Sand Point)

Sarah Davidson (Meadowbrook)

I am thrilled to be back for another year with Excel! This will be my fourth year of coaching for the team, so let’s get after it!

I can truthfully say I have been in and around pools for most of my life. I grew up swimming competitively on Cascade Swim Club, Woodinville High School Varsity Women’s Swim Team and Aqua Club Swim Team. After graduating high school, I continued my swimming career at Whitman College—competing in the 200, 500 and 1650 freestyle events. Our women’s team placed first at our conference meet all four years I attended Whitman and being a part of Whitman’s swim team proved to be one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. My own swimming aside, I have worked as a lifeguard and swim lesson instructor for seven years and a coach for five years.

I recently graduated from the University of Washington with a Master of Marine Affairs and when I am not on the pool deck, I spend my time working to protect the ocean at a non-profit organization which focuses on international ocean policy. In my free time, I love to travel, bike, hike and play with my dogs.

Finn Corbin (Sand Point)

Hey there, I’m Finn! I was born in Lake Forest Park, and didn’t start competitive swim until my first year at Shorecrest Highschool. I continued to swim all four years, receiving varsity letters 3 of those 4 years and going to state for 2 of those years. I swam for Excel for my junior and senior year.

Since graduating, I now attend the University of Washington studying Law Society and Justice, and have been coaching for Excel since the past fall.

I have since also been a Lifeguard at Dale Turner YMCA and swimming for the UW swim club, and I look forward to work both in and out of the pool.

Alicia Seftel (View Ridge)

Hi! Coach Alicia here. I grew up swimming at a competitive YMCA program and also on high school and summer lake teams in New Jersey. I later went on to coach my home lake team for seven years, where I honed my coaching focus on expert-level swim technique, holistic self-improvement, and team spirit.

After moving to Seattle in 2012 and a long hiatus, I returned to swim education with a new passion for teaching adult beginners, and a thrilling return to youth coaching with Excel in 2023.

I am a full time arborist and love to climb and learn about trees, I’m an avid skier, and I enjoy a variety of swim activities including water aerobics, open water swimming, paddling, and most of all finding ways to help others along their swim journeys.

Riah Flagler (Sand Point)

Coach Riah, here! It's an honor to share my love of swimming with the team at Excel. I grew up swimming year-round in Tucson, AZ and through that gained lifelong friends, skills by which to approach big challenges, and a passion for being in the water. I've been a swim teacher for 20 years and a lifeguard for 15. In that time, I've worked at swim schools, with various cities' aquatics departments, and with the Columbus and Seattle YMCAs. I love teaching people of all ages, abilities, and experiences to feel safer and more empowered in the water. This past summer, I was honored to fulfill my dream of being a beach lifeguard and keep people safe in our magnificent Lake Washington and also volunteer as a paddler for several open water swims in the Puget Sound. When I'm not in the water, you'll find me walking my cat, making art, adventuring with friends outside, and working as a clinical mental health counselor.
