Welcome to Sarasota Sharks Masters Water Polo!
 

We’re excited to welcome you to the Sarasota Sharks Masters Water Polo Club, a community of athletes who share a passion for water polo, personal fitness, and team camaraderie. Whether you’re returning to the sport after a long break, looking to stay active, or learning the game for the very first time—this is the place for you.
 

Who We Are
Our club brings together adult athletes from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels. From beginners just getting their feet wet to seasoned players who thrive in competition, we’re united by our shared love for the game and the support we provide each other in and out of the water. 

Everyone aged 18 to 80+ is welcome, regardless of your playing experience or current fitness level. If you're hesitant to jump in because it’s been a while, or you’ve never played at all—don’t worry. We foster an encouraging, inclusive environment where everyone progresses at their own pace.
 

What to Expect
Practices take place at the state-of-the-art Selby Aquatic Center, affectionately known as "The Shark Tank", located on Florida’s beautiful southwest coast. Sessions are structured but flexible to meet the needs of all players:

  • Light swim warm-up
  • Passing and mobility drills
  • Focused skill work
  • Scrimmage play

As a Masters athlete, you’re free to participate at the level that’s right for you during each practice. We also offer opportunities to compete in regional tournaments throughout the year—totally optional, but always a blast!

 

Practice Schedule & Cost

  • Wednesdays, 6:30 PM – 8:15 PM
  • Location: Selby Aquatic Center ("The Shark Tank")
  • Fees: 
    • $42/month
    • $20/month for current Sarasota Sharks Masters Swim Team members
    • Drop-In Fee: $15 per session (Monthly membership is strongly encouraged for consistency and team development.)

 

USA Water Polo Membership – Required
All participants must hold a USA Water Polo Bronze (or higher) membership for insurance purposes.

  • Cost: Approx. $50/year
  • Benefits: Coverage, tournament eligibility, and a great water polo magazine!

Please bring proof of membership to your first practice.
 

Before You Dive In
To help streamline your first session, please contact us before attending so we can complete the necessary paperwork ahead of time. That way, you’ll be ready to jump into the water stressfree on your first night.
