U.S. Masters Swimming and the Sarasota YMCA hosted the Fifth Pan-American Masters Championship. Twenty-six countries sent a total of 1,700 athletes, who participated in synchronized swimming, Masters swimming, and open water. This event marked the first time the U.S. has hosted it, and was open to any adult over the age of 18.
