Illinois Swimming

The LPD Dolphins are organized into progressive training groups designed to match the swimmer’s age, skill level, and commitment. Each group builds on the skills of the previous level, preparing athletes for long-term success in the sport.

Progression between groups is based on:
• Skill mastery & meet performance
• Commitment & attendance
• Training maturity & readiness

Coaches may trial athletes in new groups but only move swimmers when confident they are prepared for success. Athletes not maintaining their group’s standards within the first four weeks may be reassigned. Final placement decisions rest with the coaching staff, whose goal is to ensure each swimmer’s long-term development.
