Mia began her swimming journey at the age of 7, joining a swim team and continuing through her sophomore year of high school. For the past two years, she has been imparting her knowledge and passion for swimming by teaching lessons at Sage YMCA. Her favorite events include the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke, and 200-yard individual medley.
Mia's coaching philosophy centers around creating a fun and positive environment that encourages continuous growth in character, ability, and confidence. She believes that enjoyment in swimming leads to excellence both in and out of the pool. Her approach focuses on building strong fundamentals while nurturing each swimmer's unique potential and love for the sport.
Currently a sophomore at McHenry County College, Mia aspires to become an art teacher. Outside of school and the pool, she enjoys pottery, painting, and crafting elaborate gluten-free baked goods.
Mia is certified by both the YMCA and USA Swimming
