Veronica Gomoll is the Assistant Head Coach at Sage.  Veronica started swim team at the age of 12 and it quickly took over her life for the next 9 years. She swam at the Kishwaukee YMCA (DCST) and later was an assistant coach and swim teacher there for several years.  Veronica has a hereditary eye condition that made most other sports very difficult for her so swimming was the first sport she was ever good at, and that was life changing for her.  Veronica's favorite events were the 500 free, 100 and 200 butterfly, and 200 IM.

Veronica's coaching philosophy is based on the values of consistency, perseverance, and kindness.  Her purpose for coaching is to help swimmers grow in character, achieve goals in their sport they didn't know were possible, and to be a safe and consistent place for them.  Veronica is detail oriented and has a strong focus on good technique.  Veronica believes the sport of swimming teaches mental fortitude, tenacity, and coordination that helps swimmers succeed in many other areas for the rest of their lives and she loves being a part of something so beneficial.

Veronica is married to her husband Tyler and homeschools her 3 children during the day.  Besides swimming, she loves reading, crocheting, playing the piano both professionally and for enjoyment, science, and organizing things.

Veronica is a USA Swimming Bronze Certified Head Coach, an ASCA Level 3 Certified Coach and is also certified by USA Swimming for Age Group, Senior, and Children with Challenges.
