Dolphins Down DCST DCST began its 2014 – 2015 winter season on a losing note by falling at the Illinois Valley (Peru, IL) Dolphins by a score of 397 - 321. As a team, DCST swam okay for the first meet of the season with 72 career best times out of a total of 188 swims for a 38% improvement rate. DCST Swimmers Bjork, Hein and Olson Selected for 2014 National Leadership Camp DCST Swimmers Jacob Bjork, Daniel Hein and Kylie Olson were all recently selected as part of a group of 20 high school students from around the country to participate in the 2014 National YMCA Swimming Leadership Development Camp in Orlando, Florida. DCST Places 5th at Fox Valley Meet The Kishwaukee YMCA / DeKalb County Swim Team (DCST) finished fifth at the Fox Valley Meet on October 11 - 12. The finish was not too bad considering the team only entered swimmers in 20 of the 102 events offered. DCST only sent our Bull Dog and National swimmers to this meet, while some of the other teams had a full complement of swimmers. As a team, DCST had 30 lifetime best times out of 94 swims for an improvement rate of 32%....

DCST wants to congratulate Melanie Chambers on being named the new coach of both the Girls and Boys' DeKalb / Sycamore High School swim teams. Coach Chambers has been coaching with DCST for the past 10 years, and she will continue to coach with DCST when she is not coaching the high school teams.

After they have achieved this status, the coaching staff challenges them to see how far up DCST’s All-Time National All-American list they can climb.
