Training Group Overview

Pre-Team

Our Pre-Team is many swimmers' first introduction to our team and to competitive swimming. The Pre-Team seeks to teach all of the fundamentals and benefits that swimming has to offer for swimmers and families. The Pre-Team provides a fulfilling experience for everyone involved as you become familiarized with swimming, meet new teammates and families, and learn what makes swimming, and swimming for GREAT, such a rewarding journey.

In our Pre-Team we focus on discovering a passion and love for the sport of swimming, and learning the fundamentals of being a competitive swimmer. During their time with the Pre-Team, swimmers will build the foundation to being a competitive swimmer in a fun, enjoyable environment.

The Pre-Team will be divided into two groups, based solely on age. While all swimmers on the Pre-Team are of similar ability, this will allow for each swimmer to practice with kids of a similar age. Pre-Team swimmers are working on the four competitive strokes, while also being introduced to starts and turns.

Practices

The Pre-Team typically practices 3 times per week, with two separate groups separated by age. Swimmers must attend the practice for their respective age group. Practices will run in 3, 12-week sessions per year.

Pre-Team swimmers are expected to attend a minimum of 2 practices per week. That said, swimmers are encouraged to attend all practices offered to maximize both their progression and enjoyment of our team and sport.

Meets

Swimmers placed in the Pre-Team are not considered to be fully ready for competition. Due to this, meet participation is limited. Parents should reach out to the coaching staff before signing up for any meets.

Pre-Team swimmers are allowed to participate in two sanctioned USA Swimming meets per calendar year, in accordance with their USA Swimming Flex Membership. Team hosted meets are strongly encouraged.

Training Equipment

Aside from the essentials, we do not require any training equipment for the Pre-Team. Swimmers only need a suit and goggles for practice each day. Any equipment used will be provided.

Competitive Team

Our Competitive Team offers training groups across all ages and abilities. The structure of our training groups allows us to meet the swimmer where they are at, and then help get them where they want to be. Our training groups are broken into three divisions: 10 & Under, 11-14, and High School. Within these divisions, training groups are established to provide each swimmer with the training environment that is suitable for them and their progression.
