Check-In:

  • A day or two before a meet, our coaches would have already assigned the swimming events for your child(ren), if you Declared/Committed them for the meet.
  • In the event that your swimmer is no longer able to attend the meet after committing to it, please reach out to the Head Coach as soon as possible to let us know s/he will no longer be swimming. The Head Coach will remove your swimmer from their assigned events and will find a replacement for them if they were on a Relay Team.
  • Upon arrival at the meet, look for our team table and check-in.
  • A parent volunteer or Coach will write the swimmer’s events & lane assignments on his/her arm with permanent marker. Please apply sunblock after having the events written on the arm.
  • Parents of younger swimmers can take pictures of their arm for quick access and help keep track of their child's events.

Example: Butterfly Event #13, Heat 2, Lane 6 will be written as E13/H2/L6 Fly

Warm Ups

  • The hosting team will announce when swimmers need to gather with their teams for dryland and in-water warm up exercises.

Swim Events Guidelines

  • A swim meet consists of multiple swim events and is divided into two halves: pre half-time and post half-time.
  • Each swimmer/parent should listen for his/her Event Number to be called by the Announcer and watch the Ready Bench display for Event Numbers of upcoming races.
  • When your swimmer’s event number has been called or is displayed, you should send your swimmer to the Ready Bench (with swim cap on and goggles) and await their race.
  • Parents of younger swimmers may walk their child to the Ready Bench. However, you will be asked to leave your child in the care of the Ready Bench Volunteers.
  • Only Ready Bench volunteers and swimmers are permitted in the Ready Bench area. There may be a wait of 5-10 minutes until your child’s race begins.
  • If your child is assigned a Relay Race, it is critical that s/he show up to the Ready Bench on time. If any swimmer on the relay team is missing and no alternate is available, the entire relay team will not be able to swim that race.

Events Follow This Order:

#1-6      Medley Relay

#7-18    Butterfly

#19-30  Backstroke

#31-38  Individual Medley (IM)

** Half-time Break **

#39-50  Breaststroke

#51-62  Freestyle

#62-68  Freestyle Relay

Races start with the 5/6 year-old girls, then 5/6 year-old boys, followed by the 7/8 girls then boys, and so on until all the age groups have finished that event category (stroke).  It then moves on to the next event category, in the same order with 5/6 girls and ending with 15-18 boys.

Take your swimmer back to base camp/team area and relax until their next event is up.

View Swim Events on Mobile Apps:

  • You can view your child’s swimming events on either ‘On Deck’ or ‘Meet Mobile’ apps, which are available for download on your mobile device.
  • ‘On Deck’ App does not have a fee and you can log in with the same Stonegate Seahawks user name and password.
  • ‘Meet Mobile’ App does have an annual fee. Create an account and log in with your Stonegate Seahawks user name and password.

Complete Swim Events:

  • When your swimmer has completed all their events, you may go home, but it is always fun to stay and cheer on your team!
  • Be sure to check with your coach before leaving to make sure your swimmer is not a participant in a team relay.
  • If you have any questions, please ask one of the Coaches or any Board Member.
  • You can check your child’s timing on either of the two Apps: ‘On Deck’ or ‘Meet Mobile.’
  • Swimmers can also ask the timers at their lane for their time(s) as they step out of the pool after a race.
