Swimwear Regulations for Competitive Groups

 

Swimwear Regulations for Competitive Groups apply to all competitive training groups of Los Altos Mountain View Aquatic Club (LAMVAC) — Beginner Piranhas, Piranhas, Advanced Piranhas, Beginner Tigersharks, Tigersharks, Advanced Tigersharks, Juniors, and Seniors. If the swimmers and parents have any questions or concerns, it is their responsibility to ask the coaches.

 

Section 1 — During Practice:

  1. Swimmers shall only wear one-piece swimsuits.  All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials. The swimsuit regulations shall follow USA Swimming 2023 Rulebook 102.8.1 and FINA Requirements For Swimwear Approval (FRSA) section 4.

  2. The swimmers can wear a drag suit or an additional swimsuit per the coach’s request.

  3. Swimwear exceptions for religious or other reasons could be approved by the coach on a case-by-case basis.

  4. Coaches should tell swimmers who are wearing illegal swimwear to change.

  5. Coaches have the right to remove swimmers who repeatedly violate swimwear regulations.

 

Section 2 — During Swim Meets:

  1. Swimmers shall only wear swimwear that follows USA Swimming 2023 Rulebook 102.8 and FINA Requirements For Swimwear Approval (FRSA). 

  2. Swimmers should wear LAMVAC equipments such as LAMVAC team caps or team suits. Such equipments can be purchased at the LAMVAC Team Store.
