Vacationland Swim Club, a USA Swimming affiliate, Sandusky, Ohio.
The mission of the Vacationland Swim Club is to embrace all levels of swimmers, providing each and every athlete with the best possible environment and resources that will allow them to progress from novice to the highest levels of competition.
The Vacationland Swim Club was started in 1970 at Perkins High School by legendary coach Joe Groscost. The club flourished during this period with an emphasis on helping swimmers outside their high school seasons. In 1988, VSC switched gears and went to year-round swimming. VSC competed successfully in the Ohio Swimming League (OH). VSC moved to its present swimming district, Lake Erie Swimming, in 1996.
Vacationland has a history of excellence, routinely having high point winners at Lake Erie Championship meets and recording district records. Our Age Group program has had many Top 16 nationally ranked swimmers. VSC has had recent participants at USA Swimming Summer Nationals as well as a past swimmer at the Olympic Trials.
Many past swimmers have matriculated to the college ranks. Noteable VSC alumni Dan Wohl, Kim Routh and Charlie Clark.
