WHITE
Focus of Group: Learn Basic Swimming Terminology, Learn to Swim Competitively.
The WHITE group is designed to introduce young swimmers into the sport of swimming. Swimmers will be taught the fundamentals of freestyle and backstroke by means of drills and activities that make swimming fun. Swimmers will learn streamlining, body rotation, and balance skills.
The WHITE group is for newer swimmers with minimal competitive background. Emphasis will be placed on continued learning of freestyle and backstroke skills and drills along with breaststroke and butterfly skills and drills. Swimmers will be introduced to simple training techniques.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrate Basic Water Safety - No diving in shallow end, listen to coach, heads up when coach is talking, etc.
Get in and out safely - Be able to use both the ladder and the side of the pool to get out of the water
Able to swim in deep end - Float for 15-30 seconds on front and back in the deep end
Swim 50 Freestyle - without stopping to grab the side wall
Swim 25 Backstroke - without stopping to grab the wall
Meets - Swimmers in WHITE are encouraged to swim all of the Summer League Meets, at least 1 developmental meet, and work toward qualifying times for the Championship Meet.
Long Course Season (Summer): Practice is 1-hour in length and is offered on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Swimmers are encouraged to attend practice 3 times per week, but are welcome to come all 4 days. We really encourage you to come to as much as you can in the Summer as there is very little time between meets.
Practice - Short Course Season (Fall/Winter): Practice is 1-hour in length and is offered on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday. Swimmers are encouraged to attend practice 3 times per week, but are welcome to come all 4 days.
