POSITIVE CHECK-IN AT USA MEETS

Positive Check-In is mostly employed for distance events (400 IM, 500 free,1000 free,1650 free, and for younger swimmers - 200's of strokes), but a meet director can ask for swimmers, in any and all events, to 'positive check-in.'

The swimmer is in the meet, but upon arrival must go to the scorer's table and identify that he/she is present.  If the swimmer does not go to the scorer's table and identify that he/she is present within the declared time frame, then the swimmer will not be put into the event. The swimmer will not be reimbursed for the missed event.
