The Illinois YMCA Committee meet last night to discuss the Date for the 2024 Illinois YMCA Swimming Long Course Championship Meet. The original date that was set for the meet had to be changed due to a conflict with Lake Central High School. After receiving feedback from the teams in the state and looking at the YMCA National Long Course date, it was unanimously decided that this year’s Long Course Meet will be held on July 12th – 14th at Lake Central High School.

On May 4th, the Illinois Missouri Area Committee was informed by the St. Louis District that they were formally requesting to leave the Illinois Missouri Area. The committee voted unanimously to allow the St. Louis District to leave to form their own Area and wish them the best of luck. With the departure of the St. Louis District the Committee voted to adopt a new name.
