Life Time Swim Nebraska offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels.

It is the goal of the Life Time Swim Nebraska Team  to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging and developing each individual to the best of their abilities.

Developmental (5 - 12 years)

Swimmers in the Developmental group are exploring the possibility of competitive swimming.

Designed for swimmers who have completed the Life Time 501/601 lesson program or some equivalent and want to continue to fine tune their technique while building endurance. Swimmers continue to develop a foundation for competitive swimming through drills/technique and endurance to increase kick strength and ability across all 4 strokes.

  • Developmental swimmers practice 2 days a weeks for 45 minutes.
  • Attending 2 swim meets in a year are encouraged but not mandatory.

 

Requirements: 

  • 50m Backstroke
  • 50m Freestyle w/rhythmic side breathing 
  • 25m Breaststroke fundamentals
  • 25m Butterfly fundamentals

2023/2024 Practice Times (2x/week): 

Monday-Thursday 6:00PM - 6:45PM


Copper (5 - 12 years)

Swimmers in the Copper group are continuing to explore the world of competitive swimming.

Designed for swimmers who have passed out of Life Time Swim Team Developmental or some equivalent experience and look to reinforce legal technique, turns, and finishes while building endurance and getting excited about racing.

  • Copper swimmers practice 2 days a weeks for 1 hour.
  • Participation in 2 swim meets a year is expected.

 

Requirements: 

  • 100m Backstroke
  • 100m Freestyle w/rhythmic, bilateral breathing 
  • 50 m Breaststroke
  • 25m Butterfly

2023/2024 Practice Times (2x/week): 

Monday-Thursday 6:00PM - 7:00 PM


Bronze (6 years and up)

Swimmers in Bronze work to become proficient in the four swimming strokes.

Designed for swimmers who have passed out of Copper or completed a tryout with coaching staff. Practices incorporate fun sets designed to build endurance and push speed while maintaining stroke texhnique.

  • Bronze swimmers are encouraged to maintain a minimum average of 2.5 practices a week
  • Participation in 2 USA sanctioned swim meets per year is expected.

 

Requirements: 

  • 200m Continuous Swim
  • Legal Turns For All Strokes
  • Legal 50m Swim For All Strokes
  • 3 x 50m Freestyle on 1:30 interval
  • 3 x 50m Back on 1:50 interval
  • 100m Individual Medley in 2:45
  • Legally complete a 50m swim of every stroke

2023/2024 Practice Times (4x/week): 

Monday-Thursday 6:00PM-7:00PM


Silver (9 years and up)

Swimmers in Silver continue to work on competive swimming technique with the addition of developing race strategy. 

Designed for dedicated swimmers who have passed out of Bronze or completed a tryout with coaches. These swimmers are looking to continue to refine technique and endurance in all four swimming strokes while inreasing their speed.

  • Silver swimmers are encouraged to maintain a minimum average of 3 practices a week.
  • Participation in 3 USA Fall/Winter Season meets is expected
  • Participation in 1 USA Summer Season meet is expected, if swimming USA for the summer.

 

Requirements:  

  • 3 x 50m Freestyle on 1:20 interval
  • 3 x 50m Backstroke on 1:40 interval
  • 100m Individual Medley in 2:30

2023/2024Training Times (4x/week)

Monday-Thursday 7:00PM-8:15PM


Gold (10 years and up)

Swimmers in Gold regularly participate in sanctioned USA meets and swim more challening races.

Designed for dedicated competative swimmers who have passed out of Silver or completed a tryout with coaches. These swimmers exhibit the ability to manage more distance in practice with shorter intervals while excelling at stroke technique under pressure. Gold swimmers are driven to compete at a higher level and plan to work hard to reach their goals. 

  • Gold swimmers are encouraged to maintain a minimum average of 3.5 practices a week.
  • Participation in 4+ USA Fall/Winter Season meets is expected
  • Participation in 2 USA Summer Season meets (1 Long Course) is expected, if swimming USA for the summer

 

Requirements:

  • 3 x 100m Freestyle on 1:50 interval
  • 100m Backstroke in 2:10
  • 200m Individual Medley in 4:15

2023/2024Training Times (4x/week)

Monday-Thursday 7:00PM-8:30PM


 

Senior (12 years and up)

Swimmers in Senior regularly participate in sanctioned swim meets, push for a higher level of competition and continue to swim even more challening races.

Designed for very dedicated competative swimmers, and High School swimmers, who have passed out of Gold or completed a tryout with coaches. These swimmers are highly motivated to attend meets with the goal of getting faster and better at all their strokes.

  • Senior swimmers are encouraged to maintain a minimum average of 4 practices a week.
  • Participation in 4+ USA Fall/Winter Season meets is expected (High School Sancationed Meets Qualify)
  • Participation in 3 USA Summer Season meets (1 Long Course) is expected, if swimming USA for the summer

 

Requirements: 

  • 100m Butterfly in 1:35
  • 100m Backstroke in 1:45
  • 100m Breaststroke in 2:00
  • 100m Freestyle in 1:20
  • 400m Individual Medley in 8:00
