Missoula YMCA Swim Team (MYST) Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)

MISSION STATEMENT
Support our coaches and swimmers by developing a strong, stable, financially sound and athletically productive organization while promoting the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, responsibility and respect.
WHAT IS MYST PAC
MYST PAC is a parent run group that actively supports our swimmers by:
- communicating with parents as parents
- defining specific activities that benefit the coaches and team,
- providing a forum for parents to share their ideas to enhance MYST
- providing the tools and financing to enact ideas adopted by the PAC
All parents/guardians of MYST swimmers are automatically a part of the MYST PAC group. Parents may engage as much or as little as time allows, but as a member will receive all communications from MYST PAC.
The goal is to have parents aware and informed so you can be supportive of your swimmer and their team.

Officers of MYST PAC are elected or appointed as addressed in the By Laws. We hope you will consider taking a turn when you are able.

MEETINGS
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month in the YMCA conference room at 5:30 pm. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Parents do not need to be an officer or have a special invitation in order to attend meetings.
Agendas for each meeting are emailed to every parent, the coaches and Y administration through the website one week prior to the meeting. Minutes for each meeting are sent no later than one week after the meeting.
ACTIVITIES
Sample activities include but are not limited to:
- Establish relationships with other swim team parent groups
- Team member recruitment
- Communicate with parents, coaches and Y administration
- Team spirit building activities
- Organize team dinners and pot lucks
- Put on swim meets
- Assist coaches in organizing clinics
- Fundraising
- Train meet officials
