
John Ebito
Head Coach
Coach John Ebito, NA head coach, has been active in swimming since age 12. He was trained under great swimming institutes and coaches such as: The Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in south London, England (where the Great Britain national team trained), and 1974,75, and 76 summer swimming camps of Dr. James Councilman, 1976 USA Olympic coach and head coach of Indiana University. He was the Nigerian National record holder and the West Africa Games record holder in the 100 Free, 200 Free, 100 Fly, and 200 Fly. He was the 1973 and 1978 All African Games gold medalist in the 100 Fly. In 1974, Coach Ebito represented Nigeria at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, New Zealand, and made the 1975 USA AAU National in the 100 Fly. He was the first Nigerian to represent the country at the Olympic Games and the 7th Spartakiade Games in 1979 in Moscow, Russia. During his college years at Chicago State University, he was a two-time second place winner of the NCAA Division II Championship in the 50 Free and 100 Fly. At the University of Nebraska Lincoln, he placed 4th in the 100 fly at the Big Eight Championship in 1981, and was a member of the 1981 Big Eight Championship Team. He was a Cornhusker Game Gold Medalist as an adult, currently he is retired from his own competitive swimming career.
Coach Ebito began his coaching career with the Greater Nebraska Swim Team where he developed age group swimmers that were consistently ranked in the top 8 for MW Swimming. He has coached the Midwestern All Star and Zone teams (head coach 2011) and was awarded the Midwestern Age Group Coach of the year in 2010. He has been coaching with Nebraska Aquatics since 2016.
John is a huge fan of high school swimming both his children swam for East high school, where they were record holders. John is highly thought of within the swimming community, and in one way or another works with each and every swimmer to achieve their personal goals.

Emily Maw
Assistant Coach
Coach Emily started swimming in highschool at Lincoln Southeast, where she specialized in the 100 breast and 200IM. She spent two years swimming with Nebraska Aquatics under coach John and now is on the swim team at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Her main events are the 100 and 200 Breast and 50 Free. Emily is studying History/Social Science Education with minors in coaching and Spanish with hopes to become a highschool teacher and swim coach. Outside of swimming, she sings in two choirs and is involved in multiple clubs. Emily also coaches the Woods pool summer recreational team, where she works as a head guard. Emily loves to coach and spread her love and passion for swim with every athlete.
