Hello Aces,
There is a lot of information to share even as we wind down the short course season.

March 31 end of SCY season, Spring to Summer season Begins
Once again, please notify me if you are planning to finish up on  March 31.  I have compiled a list of everyone who has notified me so far, but I want to be sure that I don't miss anyone.  Spring and summer can be a great time to focus on strokes with a bit less pressure and fewer swimmers in the water. We will be in the water until the end of the first week of August.

Spring/Summer Swim Meets
Unfortunately, in the spring/summer, we can't be guaranteed entries for long course meters meets.  This is due to the lack of 50 meter pools and the shorter season. I will have some of these meets open for registration  tomorrow evening.

Dryland Temporarily on Hold
For the time being, we do not have a reasonable space to dedicate to dryland.  When the weather improves, we will bring the kids outside for comp 2 dryland.

Banquet
Thank you everyone for attending the banquet. I had a great time. It was fun to celebrate the year's achievements with you all.

Programs 2018-2019
I have attached, once again, the tentative program schedule for next year.  I have received your feedback and I appreciate you taking the time to respond.  Please remember that while all Aces are welcome back and will not have to try out again for the team,  June 30 will be the latest date at which I can absolutely 100% guaruntee a spot for you.  Tryouts for new members for next season will be mid-August. Please keep that in mind when you are preparing for your summer break. We will open registration for our fall programs to returning Aces on  May 1.

Once again, you can send me feedback through the following survey:  https://goo.gl/forms/5DoMgWkvrrVM7FWd2

The schedule is up for change. I am working to address the concerns that some have shared. I believe that what we are doing is for the best for all of our athletes.

No Practice Sunday, April 1
Easter  Sunday.  Happy Easter! We ARE in the water on Good  Friday.

Process for spring meets: I will post multiple meets. Please go confirm whichever ones you would like to do and choose your events.  I will send them in and we will just hope we get chosen. We never have trouble getting into short course meets at this point, so we will enter one as sort of a fall back.

Lifeguard Class April Break
For anyone 15+ who wants to earn their lifeguarding over April Break we are offering one of the most affordable lifeguard classes in the area. This is open to the public, so please spread the word if you know anyone who would be interested.

Rates of improvement
The attached document about our rates of improvement represent all distances tracked by the SWIMS database (25 yards or more) as improved from one year to the next.  If your swimmer did not swim last year, they won't have times on this document. It is an automatically generated document by USA Swimming.

Quote of interest
"Most competitive swimming events last less than two minutes. How can training for three to four hours per day at speeds that are markedly slower than competitive pace prepare the swimmer for maximal efforts of competition?" Dave Costill, celebrated physiologist, swimming.

Go Aces!
