Welcome email

9/24/18

Hello Everyone,

This is just a quick, welcome email. We will have more information for you as we approach the season.

First, I have a few bits of information:

Scheduling Meets
Now that meets are posted for the season, we are working on securing as many guaranteed entries as possible. Each meet has to allow a certain amount of guaranteed and no previously guaranteed entries.

-We have been accepted guaranteed already to   Acton Boxboro on   October 20 for their pentathlon. Once they have shared their electronic entry file, I will open it up for you all to register.

-We have also been accepted to   Salem NH on   Dec 8 for their one day meet.

-I am working on securing guaranteed entries for more nearby meets (1 per month) and a meet at the   Upper Valley Aquatic Center in Vermont Nov 2-4  for our first ever travel meet. If we are not guaranteed, I will still submit an entry and we'll see what we get.

Necessary Equipment for our swimmers
1.   A set of fins (I recommend tyr crossblades) If you don't know your size, you can go to Dick's sporting goods in Nashua or at Varsity Swim Shop in North Reading.
2. A decent pair of goggles. You can find some   swimoutlet.com, Dicks or Varsity.
3. A water bottle (every practice)
4. Athletes 12+ should order a set of   exercise bands  (amazon) or maybe target or walmart. I saw them at marshalls as well.
5. Team suits will be sized at practice in September and then we will do a group order (this keeps prices down).
6. We will be working with Dracut Threads again this year on an apparel order. No apparel is required, but it is great to look like a team when we go to a meet, so it is encouraged.

Welcome and welcome back!
I am so excited to have you all on board this year. This is going to be a stellar swim season! We are growing as a team in what we are offering our athletes: in our ability to provide our swimmers with everything they need to be elite athletes from lessons to college.

We have welcomed Andrea Keohane as our new administrative assistant. Her hard work has allowed me the chance to focus on or athletes and their needs more than ever before. Specifically I am focused on creating an environment where our swimmers will have fun and have the opportunity to become champions through hard work and commitment.

Our swimmers 12 years and older now have access to an amazing dryland program that can be completed at home. They will build strength and athleticism in order to improve their times and more importantly reduce risk of injury.   If you haven't received an invitation to join volt for your swimmers over 12 years old, please let me know as soon as possible. We currently have 3 athletes who have completed multiple workouts and 25 pending invitations.

The creation of the juniors/seniors program has given me the opportunity to tailor workouts to better suit the needs of both our younger swimmers in comp 2 and our older athletes, so it is a benefit to all of our swimmers.

If you have any questions, please let me or Andrea know. Again, I can't wait to make this season a memorable experience.
Go Aces!
Coach Matt
