2. Programs
Pre Comp
Fun and educational, our pre-competition program offers swimmers an introduction to the dynamics of a competitive swim team. We focus on the essential development of all four strokes, competition starts, turns, and aerobic capacity. Swimmers in this program may compete as they become physically and mentally prepared.
-
Swimmers meet 3 days a week
-
Program Tuition: $100/month
Competition 1
Swimmers are ready to commit to 3 days of swimming per week with longer practice times. Stroke development is still a major focus at this level, but is set in the context of aerobic development. Improvements in technique at this level equal major improvements in speed.
-
Swimmers meet 3 days a week.

Program Tuition: $150/month
Competition 2
Aerobic and anaerobic development is the major focus of this program while stroke refinement is always a major presence as well. Swimmers will base their goals on qualifying time standards.
-
Swimmers meet 3-4 days a week.
-
Program Tuition: $180/month
Junior/Senior
We train to race. Each practice has a desired outcome for improvement. Every set has a purpose. We get the very best out of our athletes with purposeful and challenging workouts designed to develop elite swimmers through better technique and hard work. Juniors and Seniors will excel with just the right mix of technique and training

3. Meets
- Roughly 4-6 weeks prior to a meet an email will be sent out asking swimmers to sign-up. At that time, go to swimaces.com. Under the “meets/events” tab you will click on “edit commitment” for each meet and you will declare “yes, I will attend” or “no, I will not attend”. If you have multiple children you will need to do this for each child.
-The registration process (Choose 5 events/session-Coach may decide to make his own choices) Register now, pay when we are accepted. No refunds are given to me, and so I cannot refund you whatever the reason for your cancellation.
-The day of the meet: Ready to swim 15 minutes before your warm up. Kids then dry off, stay together and have fun. The lane and heat numbers will be published only right at the end of warm up. Kids in the first event will be sent down to swim while others will write on their hands/ arms their heat and lane numbers.
Roles:
A parent’s role is to encourage, support, transport and supply.
The coaches’ role is to provide feedback.

Equipment List

2. A decent pair of goggles. You can find some swimoutlet.com, Dicks or Varsity.
3. A water bottle (every practice)
4. A set of training paddles. Comp 2 should get size small and Jr/Srs should get size medium.

*Matt has a few extra fins that have been donated that don't fit swimmers anymore. First week of practice can do a fin exchange where can bring in your old fins to get ones that do fit.

PHOTO RELEASE POLICY
Aces Aquatics would like to use photos of swim team members taken during swim practice, competitions, and social events in team publications including but not limited to the team website, team Facebook page, team Instagram account, and the team Twitter account. By signing your child up as a member of the Aces Aquatics Swim Team you are agreeing that photos of your child can be used in the above publications. At any time a parent or guardian of an athlete may request in writing that photographs of their child not be used in publication. Unless a parent or guardian opts out of this policy in writing, photographs of all swimmers may appear on all of our social media accounts and website.
7. Roles - Parent, Coach and Swimmers
Be sure to: Motivate Guide Clarify
We discourage you from: Coaching your child Distracting from the stands during practice ,Photography policy-process of being updated and Filming practice outside of relays without asking.
Please make sure you sign the waiver for the MAAPP Policy with USA Swimming. Will need all families to sign this in order to compete with Aces. The Policy was emailed out to everyone on August 8th. It is also available in our Handbook at swimaces.com. Sign Acknowledgement form here
8. Safety
Parents are not allowed on deck during practices. This, again is a USA Swimming policy. Our insurance is void if non-USA Swimming members are present on deck. This is also in order to ensure that coaches are able to give their attention to swimmers for safety and feedback purposes.
There are stands available for parents to sit in at both of our practice facilities. Parents/guardians are welcome (not required) to stay during practice, however we ask that you be a silent observer. If you would like to speak with a coach, please schedule a time before or after practice so as not to take away from valuable practice time.
9. Volunteering
Volunteer hours = 4 hrs/family
We will need volunteers at each meet we attend to assist in timing. We need officials and will eventually need referees and starters. We will be starting to track who has volunteered for which meets. When parents sign up their kids for meets, there will be a spot online to fill out for volunteering as well.
10. Contact
If you have any questions please email Andrea at [email protected], Andrea will try and respond as soon as possible. We are just trying to streamline the process so Matt can have time to prepare workouts etc. If you have an immediate question you can still email Matt but Andrea should be able to help with most issues.
