Summer Team: Week 5 in Review
AT-A-GLANCE:
--Well done, EDGE Family! It’s been a crazy week with THREE meets, but that just made it even more FUN! We had tons of fun with our friends from Winooski, avoided storms and donated more than TWO HUNDRED pounds with our friends from BTC, watched Toy Story 4 together (highly recommended!), and pushed our limits at the CVSL “Go the Distance Meet.” Read on to read more about our adventures from week five of our summer season.
SPORTSMANSHIP SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK
--Stella Griffin! This submission said, “Stella can always be found with a smile on her face, excited to swim her races, and even more excited to cheer on her EDGE teammates. We saw her hugging her siblings, smiling ear to ear after they swam their races. We saw her cheering at the side of the pool.” Thanks for being such a good example, Stella!
--Cindy Yang! This submission said, “When I was coaching the Shark Pups and the Black-Tip Sharks alone on Wednesday, Cindy arrived early for practice and noticed that I was struggling to keep up with both groups. She offered to help me right away.” Thanks for helping out, Cindy!

DUAL MEET VS WINOOSKI
--Win 229-98
--Recap: Our friends from Winooski always know how to have fun. Their coaching staff, swimmers, and parents are all dedicated to their community and the awesome sport of swimming! We saw EDGE swimmers high-fiving Winooski swimmers, shaking hands after races, and we did a tremendous job of staying until the very end of the meet! It was so cool to see everyone on the pool deck for our oldest swimmers’ relay

DUAL MEET AT BURLINGTON TENNIS CLUB
--Win 309-179
--Recap: We’re convinced the rain held off because of our meet! Our friends from the Burlington Tennis Club always know how to put on a fun meet. BTC and EDGE swimmers lined the deck the whole meet to cheer for their teammates and it was loud the whole time! Things can always be a bit hectic at away meets, but our families handled it well. This was our longest meet of the season so far, ending at around 8:20 PM. Still plenty of time to enjoy some Al's after the meet! Not to mention that between us and BTC, we donated over 221 POUNDS to the food shelf. Great work, everyone!

CVSL “GO THE DISTANCE” MEET
Unscored
Recap: The 2019 CVSL “Go the Distance” meet was a great success for teams around the CVSL! We had swimmers push their limits in events that they’ve never done before, and we’re excited to use these times to come up with entries for the CVSL and VSA Championship meets. Our wonderful parents came through in the clutch to fill our necessary parent roles so the meet ran quite smoothly! What better way to spend a Saturday than at the pool? We hope you had fun!

TEAM EVENT: TOY STORY 4 AT MAJESTIC 10!
Over 40 of us gathered at Majestic 10 Theater in Williston to watch Toy Story 4, and it was a really great movie! We highly recommend watching it if you haven’t had the chance yet. Between this movie and Lion King coming out next week, it’s safe to say that this summer is a great one for movies. We were so happy to kick back, relax, and enjoy some quality time with the team!
Here's to an even better week six of fun in the sun! Go EDGE!!!
