EDGE SWIM CLUB SUMMER TEAM: WEEK 6 IN REVIEW

AT-A-GLANCE:

Congratulations, EDGE Family! You have successfully completed an UNDEFEATED dual meet season! We are so proud of our SWIMMERS for displaying great sportsmanship, swimming their fastest, and being excellent and supportive teammates all season long. We are so grateful for our PARENTS, who time after time stepped up when they were needed to make sure our meets ran smoothly each and every time. This week, we traveled to St. Albans on Tuesday and hosted the Town of Essex Swim Team (TEST) on Thursday. Both meets were a great success. Everywhere you looked, you could see smiling swimmers and fast races. What more can you ask for?

SPORTSMANSHIP SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK:

Abby FitzPatrick! This submission said, "Abby participated in her first meet ever this week and went above and BEYOND - she jumped into her first RELAY ever with the 15-18 girls so that we could let all of the 15-18 girls in attendance participate in a relay at their last summer dual meet! WAY TO GO ABBY!"

Ella Miller! This submission said, "Ella has dealt with many injuries, and faced another one after her successful weekend at the Long Course "Seniors" Championship. This didn't stop Ella from traveling up to St. Albans to help coach and cheer on her fellow teammates. Thanks for being such a supportive EDGE swimmer, Ella!"

DUAL MEET AT ST. ALBANS:

  • Score:
    • EDGE 303, St. Albans 151
  • Recap:
    • It is always fun to have nice weather for our outdoor meets, and our meets at St. Albans are always fun! We arrived to have our own flag hanging on their clubhouse, which our swimmers thought was so cool and an awesome gesture to welcome us. Our swimmers dropped a bunch of time and some major fun was had (check out the pictures on this news post)! It was a far drive for us, but our families did what had to be done to fill volunteer positions, get their kids to the pool on time, and making sure everyone was well-hydrated and fed.

DUAL MEET VS TOWN OF ESSEX SWIM TEAM:

  • Score:
    • EDGE 264, TEST 229
  • Recap:
    • In our FINAL dual meet of the season, our swimmers went all out. The pool deck was LOUD, the concession stand was BUSY, and man did our swimmers go FAST! We hosted our friends from TEST and took some time to reflect on our awesome dual meet season both before and after the meet. You could find EDGE swimmers shaking hands, cheering on their teammates, and being ready to help wherever needed. We had some swimmers swim up in older age groups' relays and those swimmers were up to the challenge. We are so grateful for all of the support of our families for this dual meet season, and can't wait to see what's in store at the CVSL and VSA Championship Meets in the coming weeks!
